A diamond certificate refers to the verification of the specifications of the diamond. These specifications may include – color grade of the diamond, its carat weight, clarity grade and the cut grade. Whether you buy a diamond from RRP or some other vendor, you should never do it without a diamond certificate.
This is because the cost of the diamond largely depends on 4 characteristics, also known as 4 Cs. These are – Color, Clarity, Carat and Cut. How these four features are related to each other determines what the value of your diamond is. Contrary to popular belief, it is not just the carat that affects the appearance or the price of the diamond – color, cut and clarity are also of equal importance.
Conflict Free Diamonds – the RRP Guarantee
Diamonds are considered the symbol of love, and they should be as pure as the love you and your spouse have for each other. To ensure that, we only use diamonds that are considered conflict free and come from vendors that ensure that all the stones are certifiably conflict free.
At RRP Jewellers, we understand the importance of knowing where your jewelry comes from. That is why, we ensure that all diamonds and other gemstones used in our jewelry pieces come conflict free. We provide a certificate stating the same with all diamond purchases as well. We have contracts with suppliers that guarantee that all our diamonds are compliant with the applicable laws in the country and are certifiably conflict free. We also ensure that all the diamonds we purchase are polished and come from sources that are part of the professional diamond trade.
The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme was established in 2002 by the United Nations General Assembly to ensure that diamonds that are associated with conflict must not enter the diamond market. India also falls under the KPCS Government list and all the Governments that follow this scheme have to certify that the diamonds they have acquired are from sources that do not have any conflicts.
The KPCS has also been extended to polished diamonds, and the World Diamond Council has established a system where a System of Warranties have been set up to guarantee that polished diamonds come form a source that supplies conflict-free rough stones. RPP Diamonds is compliant with these warranties.
Further Grading of Diamonds
Also known as eye clean diamonds, deep graded diamonds are those that appear clean to the naked eye. ‘Clean’ means that when the diamond is held face up in daylight or under fluorescent lighting relatively close to the naked eye (at a distance of 6 to 12 inches), it should have no inclusions.
There are three factors that define an eye clean diamond, even though the concept may vary from one retailer to another:
According to the GIA and AGS, the categories that are considered eye clean when it comes to diamonds are:
Diamonds that that are Slightly Included (SI1 and SI2) may or may not be considered eye clean, depending on the inclusions, and Included (I1, I2, and I3) are considered non eye clean.
RRP Jewellers uses AI technology and Deep Learning to analyze all the diamonds and their specifications. This deep grading of diamonds allows us to accurately mark the value of a specific diamond and assess whether it is eye clean or not.
